About Dance Mouse & Dance Madness

 

DM Dance® is a comprehensive, dance related syllabus currently being introduced in most Pre-Primary and Primary Schools in South Africa through a franchise opportunity. Our curriculum gives young children the opportunity to be introduced to approximately six different dance forms per year.

Teaching children technique and rhythm, and increasing their overall self-confidence.

Offering each child access to a broad dance base from which they can then choose going forward.

Dancers are exposed to proprioception skills and various other activities that enhance their sensory, vestibular (balance) and gross motor skills at a steady and controlled pace.

Offers a solid foundation of dance, body and spatial awareness. Dancer becomes very aware of their own body, its limitations and strengths.

At the same time enhancing a child’s performance in any other physically demanding sport.

A great emotional release and cardio workout for both boys and girls offering them an overall sense of well -being.

Dancers achieve all of the above while dancing to the latest music and most importantly having loads of FUN!

The primary aim of DM DANCE® is to encourage children to enjoy dance expression and to increase their passion and love of dance. Should children only want to dance for fun (whether talented or not) or to do exams and competitions they have the freedom to choose.

DM DANCE® uses an array of equipment: hedgehogs, wobble boards, silk, scarves, hula hoops, cheerleader shakers, ribbon sticks etc. Techniques are presented in such a way as to make it fun. We are opposed to any form of stress or pressure being placed on children in order to achieve results.

DM DANCE® has managed to maintain incredibly high standards to date, which includes keeping up to date with the latest music and dance steps. Our annual syllabus updates are compulsory and our teachers are trained, monitored and regularly evaluated.

DM DANCE® offers a comprehensive clothing range and various other branded products which encourage the children to dance and to have a good time.

DM DANCE® has been well received by both the public and teachers who have recognised its potential as a fun and unique school activity, fostering a lifelong love of dance!
